Updates and Resources: Zoning Ordinance and Map Effective Tomorrow, August 1

As you are aware, the City’s new Zoning Ordinance and map go into effect tomorrow, Saturday, August 1.

To help during this transition, here are a few updates:

• Zoning Map: The City’s interactive zoning map has been replaced in its current location. If you have the map bookmarked, your bookmark will continue to work.
• Zoning Ordinance: The new Zoning Ordinance is already available in pdf form, here: https://engagerockville.com/25887/widgets/88678/documents/83771. (We recommend using/saving this specific address, not the web address that will appear in your browser when you click this link. The address that will appear is a temporary address that will only work for a limited time.) MuniCode, the company that updates Rockville’s online, interactive version of the City Code, is experiencing significant delays, so this is the best document to use for the time being. We aimed to make the pdf as high-functioning as possible, and it has many of the features that MuniCode offers, including a navigation panel on the left hand side, hyperlinked cross-references, and a hyperlinked table of contents. The document is also linked directly on Engage Rockville, both in the banner at the top of the screen and in the Project Documents section.
• MyGovernmentOnline (MGO): Existing applications for things such as site plans, project plans, plats, etc. will be updated beginning this afternoon and continuing into next week. New applications will be created for Temporary Use Permits and Changes of Use not Requiring a Site Plan Amendment.
• Website: We are aware of a number of webpages that need to be updated to reflect the new Zoning Ordinance, including those related to zoning and development review processes. We will update these pages in the coming weeks. If you have any questions about website information in the meantime, do not hesitate to reach out.
