Public Outreach Session #2

"What are Design Guidelines" Meeting 2
Tuesday, September 27, 2022

7:00pm via WebEx

West End residents were invited to learn more about creating neighborhood design guidelines for new construction and additions that will promote creative and high-quality design, and encourage compatibility between new and existing homes within the West End neighborhood. The purpose of this meeting was to provide an opportunity to learn more about the project before the first draft of guidelines are released in October.

At the meeting, city staff described the purpose of design guidelines, how they could be applied and present possible design issues to address. Representatives from West End Citizen’s Association (WECA) provided an update on the project’s history and how the recent neighborhood survey will inform the guidelines. Residents were able to ask questions.

City planning staff and WECA will be working in partnership with neighborhood residents over the next several months to identify issues, communicate findings, and establish design guidelines for new home construction and additions to West End residences.
