Must Improve Walking/Biking/Roadway Infrastruction
Regardless of what the city does “inside” RedGate park, it is imperative that we work with MDSHA and MCDOT to improve the conditions around and leading to the area.. it is very dangerous, difficult, and uncomfortable to walk from anywhere in the city to RedGate park, Sidewalks are often missing and bike lanes are almost non existent. There are little public transportation options, and arriving from the west requires crossing MD 28 at the signalized intersection.
The Rec & Parks Commissioin made several strong recommendations to connect RedGate to the surrounding community allowing easier non-vehicle access and I think all should be explored and implemented.
Having a car should not be a prerequisite to enjoying RedGate Park.
