Rockville Begins Work on Green Space Management Plan

Rockville is excited to announce the beginning of a citywide effort to develop the city's first Green Space Management Plan. Identified as a key action in the city's Climate Action Plan, the Green Space Management Plan will help guide how we care for and manage public green spaces throughout the city.

From forests and street trees to natural areas and landscaped public spaces, Rockville's green spaces provide important environmental and community benefits that contribute to the health, resilience, and character of our city. The plan will provide a long-term strategy to protect, enhance, and sustainably manage these valuable community assets for future generations.

The city's Environmental Management Division and Department of Recreation and Parks are partnering with Biohabitats on this effort. Over the coming months, residents and community stakeholders will have opportunities to learn more about the project, share their ideas and experiences, and help shape the future of Rockville's green spaces.
